Emerson - 12 Weeks Old

Emerson is 12 weeks old! He is getting so big!! He is hanging out in the exersaucer, but only for short periods of time. He likes the Bumbo. And he is spending more and more time playing on his playmat and on the floor! He loves to swing outside with his brothers. He is eating rice cereal. In fact that's pretty much all he is doing is eating! He is one hungry little man! He is still suffering from his reflux, so we have an appointment with a gastroenterologist coming up. Hopefully we can find some relief for the the little guy soon! He is an active fella! He is rolling all the time - and he's FAST!! It took 5-6 takes to record it because he would roll before I could get the camera on him! He has his happy time mostly in the mornings and occassionally we catch him in a good mood in the evening. His smile brightens our day!

Emerson - 11 Weeks - First Cereal

Emerson is eating non stop! At 11 weeks, he is eating 6 ounces every 2 1/2- 3 hours. He eats rice cereal at 5:30 and has rice cereal in his last bottle of the night. Despite all this eating he is still a little guy (except for the cheeks!). Doctor suggested he may be eating frequently to soothe his reflux. So he has been referred to a gastroenterologist. We hope we find some relief for our little guy! We catch an occassional smile in the mornings!

New Year's Eve 2011/2012

This New Year's Eve the Alfords came over, and the kids exchanged Christmas presents. Ricky and Everett were very excited about their new Leapster games, and I just love Sawyer and Emerson's Tooth Fairy pillows. We then went across the street to the Messerall's house to bring in the New Year! The kids did fireworks and played outside. Eventually Sawyer went to sleep, and then the big boys did as well. They slept in beds at the Messerall's house. Emerson joined us for the countdown! What a great way to start 2012! We look forward to many more future celebrations together!

Emerson is 10 Weeks Old!

At 10 weeks old Emerson is smiling, cooing, sitting in a Bumbo, enjoying the swing, playing more on the playmat, grasping objects, and looking at himself in a mirror. He likes to imitate your sounds and facial expressions. He eats 6 ounces every 3 hours. He is having some trouble with bowel movements and has been going every 3-4 days. Day 4 we gave him  sugar water and finally a suppository. He has been very fussy! The pictures are of the smiles we catch when he is in a good mood which hasn't been too often! We took him to the doctor and they increased his Prevacid to twice a day.  We also started putting rice cereal in his bottle at night. After about a week, we think we may finally be seeing some improvement. This new found happiness can probably be attributed to the increase in medication and the fact that he has begun pooping more regularly. Or it may be because he's more fulfilled with the rice cereal. Whatever the reason, we'll take it! We hope it continues!! He weighs 11 pounds 6 ounces. While he is registering a little small on the growth chart, he seems so big to us! He is growing so fast!

Christmas Day 2011

Christmas morning Grammy, Uncle Ryan and Aunt Jenny, and Nana and Pappy came over at 5 in the morning to watch us open presents! The boys were up and ready at 1:30, but had to go back to sleep. Emerson was pulling an all nighter! So by 5:00 everyone was finally asleep and our doorbell was ringing! It didn't take much to get the kids going though! We had a ball watching the boys go through all their gifts! Afterwards, everyone left and we played with our new toys. At around 1:00, Nana and Pappy came back! We're not much of a cake family, so Nana and the boys made fudge for Jesus's birthday. The boys had so much fun making "Jesus Fudge"! They even got to decorate it, and it turned out so pretty! ;0) Then we all cuddled up in Daddy's "man cave", drank hot chocolate, and ate popcorn while watching the Polar Express! It ws a great day and a great way to celebrate the birth of Jesus. The true meaning of Christmas was not lost on the boys!
