We went to the Renaissance Festival with Grammy and Tim and had so much fun! The boys just took it all in for the first half hour and then joined right in the fun! They loved all the people dressed up, dressed up themselves, enjoyed the food, and had a great time! So many fun things to do.....so many great pictures! My favorite picture is the last one posted of My Three Vikings!
To those near and far, we hope this blog keeps you as close to us as you are to our hearts! We are blessed and want to share our blessings with you all!

Sawyer is 5 Months Old!
Can't believe Sawyer is 5 months old! He's is growing up so fast! He is the happiest little guy! He is always smiling, and his smile is contagious!
Sawyer is eating a ton! For breakfast he eats cereal and a jar of fruit. For lunch he eats a jar of fruit and a jar of vegetable. For dinner he also eats a jar of fruit and a jar of vegetable. He's still a skinny minny though! He must have his Mommy's metabolism!
Sawyer is doing new things everyday! He is sitting up by himself - which he loves to do! He picks up his toys off the ground to play with. He enjoys being read to. His favorite book is Mirror Me by Baby Einstein - every time we open it to read he is a bundle of giggles! He likes to swing outside with his brothers.
Sawyer said "Mama" the day before he turned 5 months old! He has a cold and was up in the middle of the night and I thought he said it then, but I figured it was wishful thinking! Then in the morning I gave him to Rick to hold while I went into the bathroom to get ready. He called out several times "Mama"! I was so excited! So I brought him in the bathroom and put him in his bouncy seat and he said it again! And he said it before Dada! I know he is probably just saying it and not connecting it yet, but it sure seemed like it! I am excited because usually they get the dada, baba, and/or gaga before mama! So fun! Made my day!
I am thinking about Sawyer making the transition to his room over Thanksgiving break. He now calls my name during the night! I am torn because I am not sure if I am ready for him to leave, but I am ready for a peaceful night of sleep! While he sleeps thru, every little noise he makes wakes me up! And yet the sounds reassure me at the same time! So we'll see!

Ricky's First Parent/Teacher Conference
Well, we had our first parent/teacher conference! I was nervous, but it went VERY well! Ricky is in the top 2 students in his class, and the top 10% of his school including both PreK classes and Kindergarten! He is doing things we didn't even know he could do! He is reading, and he is top in his class in math and in writing! He is a quick learner and very eager to learn/try new things! I think that's pretty impressive considering this is his first experience in school and most of the kids have been going there!
She said they had some issues with playing aggressively with the whole class (it is very boy heavy). But that has worked itself out. Ricky is very well rounded, sweet, and considerate of others. He is advanced in his verbal skills, well above his peers, and communicates very well with the teachers and with his friends. Ricky is used as a peer helper in his classroom. The teacher said he has been helping the other students with their math. He is good at problem solving and working out issues independently. He is quite a ladies man! He always looks out for the girls and makes sure they are taken care of! He is well liked, and has many friends.
The only thing he does is if they are doing something he doesn't want to do he tells them no he doesn't want to. She said he does this after waking up from a nap and is tired. Once he wakes up he comes around. She said he doesn't do it often, but he does do it. Sounds like our strong-willed boy! Totally unacceptable to ever do it - we will definitely take care of that! But I do have to say that I am relieved that's the only thing he does at school! She said other than those occassions, he is respectful and polite!
She said all the teachers adore him and that he is really wonderful to have in class! Could we see a little bit of that at home please! :0)
But overall, we couldn't be happier with how he is doing! And we are very happy with Primrose!

Halloween 2010
What a fun Halloween weekend! It started on Friday with Ricky's parade at school. Then we carved our pumpkins. Saturday, we spent the evening at the Spring Trails Halloween Festival. We took the Alford's along with us. We played, ate lots of candy, and took a hayride thru the neighborhood! The boys were the Chipmunks - Alvin, Simon, and Theodore. On Halloween, Allison and Brooklyn, Nana and Pappy, and Grammy all came over. We went trick or treating with all the kiddos on Shauna Lane! Sawyer left early with Daddy to eat. Daddy so sweetly volunteered - of course the Steelers were on so he didn't mind too much! Then Grammy took Everett home because he was tired and thirsty. Ricky of course was a trooper, but even he wanted to be carried home! So the boys slept well that night! It was a Happy Halloween!
