Ricky is Four Years Old!
Happy birthday to Ricky! We can't believe he is four years old! It was just yesterday we held him in our arms weighing just barely 6 pounds! At his 4 year check up he now weighs 35 1/2 pounds and is 40 inches tall! He received a clean bill of health. But he did not pass his vision test. We are seeing a pediatric optometrist on February 1st. He also failed the hearing test in his right ear. We go back in 3 months to have his hearing reevaluated. The doctor asked if we notice any hearing difficulties. I told her he is a strong willed little boy, so we have always attributed it to a listening problem rather than a hearing problem. I hope we are right! Well, I know we are right about the strong willed part anyway! We can already see the great things he will do! Ricky has always been a little man! He has always acted like such a grown up! We say he is 4 going on 14! He is very bright and impresses those around him constantly. He loves being a big brother to Everett and soon to Sawyer! He is a caregiver who is thoughtful and sensitive to others. He has said since he could talk that he wants to grow up and be a doctor. He stills tells this to people everywhere we go! And Mommy and Daddy believe him! He is definitely capable!
When Ricky woke up on his birthday he was so excited until at 5:00 in the morning he realized all his friends were not in the kitchen hiding and waiting to yell "Surprise!" We had Ricky's party at Pump it Up! He and all his friends had a blast! Nana made a special cake and ice cream dessert. It was a great celebration!
We truly enjoy each day watching our baby boys grow into little boys who will some day grow into fine young men! We are so blessed!

Christmas Holiday
We had an exciting and busy Christmas break! Grammy and PapPap came for a visit. They took the boys to the movies, created in the kitchen, saw Santa, visited the Festival of Lights in College Station, and more. They even came up to Mommy's school to give out gifts to her students! I don't know who was more excited - Ricky and Everett or the students?!? On the 23rd, we took the whole family to the doctor's office to see an ultrasound of our baby and learned we were having another boy - Sawyer James! The boys were a little disappointed to learn they would not be having a sister, but quickly recovered and can't wait to meet Sawyer! They are both so excited to be big brothers! On Christmas Eve, Pap Pap always reads Polar Express to us, and then we watch the movie in our pj's. Christmas morning was a blast! The boys were so excited to see all their presents!
Ricky took the approach of slow and steady! He wanted to open each gift and play with it before moving on to the next one. Everett, however, tore into each gift and was finished long before Ricky! He organized his gifts into nice, neat piles - looks like a touch of Mommy's OCD! Then Ricky told Everett he could open the rest of his gifts while he played. Everett was more than willing to help out his brother! He would get so excited and say "Look Ricky what you got!" After all the presents were open under the tree, they found more under the other tree in the dining room! They got their very own brand new computer for their playroom! Then they found a set of keys that led them to the garage to discover their Jeep they could drive! They were thrilled! The day after Christmas we spent with Nana, Pappy, and Grandma! It was so much fun! At the end of our break, the boys had a visit from their cousins! Ricky and Everett adored spending time with Dylan, Chloe, and Brandon! We went to the park and had a sleepover! We made pallets on the floor and watched movies like we were at the theatre! We were all sad to see them go! We rang in the New Year with our good friend's the Alford's! The kids had the best time! We also went to our friend Emily's birthday party at Pump It Up and had a great time! It was a busy break packed full of fun times and memories! Check out the slideshow below of the pics from our Christmas Holiday!

16 Weeks Pregnant
We are 16 Weeks pregnant! I heard Sawyer's heartbeat at my check up - how sweet the sound! I have gained 3 pounds for a total of 6 pounds so far. They took some blood to test for Spina Bifida - just a routine test. We should get the results in about a week. I got my H1N1 vaccine as well. I continue to spot if I overdo it, so we just need to make sure I take it easy! We discussed the difference in birth weight between Ricky and Everett and how I have failed the initial glucose screenings with both Ricky and Everett. The doctor thinks that Everett's size was to to undiagnosed Gestational Diabetes. So he told me to go ahead and cut back on carbs and unneccessary sugars. Don't know how cutting back on carbs will go being a vegetarian, but it looks like I am going to have to try to drink some water! At our next visit we will get an ultrasound. They will do all the measurements and check all the organs, etc. Can't wait to see Sawyer again! At 24 weeks they will test my glucose levels. I am still feeling nauseous - hoping for some relief on that count! We have worked on the nursery and almost have it completed! All we have left are putting things up on the walls! I even have all the preemie, newborn, and 0-3 month clothes folded and put away! All we need is Sawyer! Though we have a long time still to wait! We are looking forward to meeting our newest addition!
