Sawyer - 32 Weeks

We had our 32 week appointment and it went very well! They did an ultrasound and he looked great! This was good news as this is the point at which I went into preterm labor with Everett. Sawyer wasn't cooperative photo shoot wise, so we didn't get very good pictures. But it was wonderful to see him and to see that everything is going so well! He is head down already and in the right position for delivery. I wasn't surprised because I can feel his head hitting my cervix! He was opening and closing his eyes, yawning, and swallowing. But most of the time he kept both arms in front of his face. His heartbeat was 176 beats per minute. He weighs approximately 4 pounds. And he is expected to be in the 41st percentile at birth. At 32 weeks Everett was already measuring 2 weeks bigger, so it looks like Sawyer is going to be closer to average. The technician estimates around 7 pounds. She said she would be shocked if he was bigger than 7 1/2 pounds. That would put him bigger than Ricky and smaller than Everett. We can't wait to see! I put on 4 pounds this month - finally! So I am up to a total of 16 pounds - weighing in at 126 pounds. Not bad for 8 months pregnant! This is a lot less than I had put on with Ricky and Everett at this point, but Sawyer is growing and healthy, so no worries there! Maybe my big weight gain will come at the end. With Everett at 32 weeks I had put on 28 pounds and that was the total amount I ever put on. With Ricky I put on 8 pounds in one week toward the end (yikes!) - for a total of 35 pounds. So anything can happen. Ricky and Everett talk to Sawyer all the time. They include him in everything! In the mornings when I drop them off, Everett tells me he is going to miss me and Sawyer! Ricky tells me he loves everyone in our family - Momma, Daddy, Everett, Sawyer, and Dante! They go in his room and put their stuffed animals in his crib and swing for him! We just can't wait to meet our little guy and hold him in our arms!

Sawyer is getting so big!

Crawfish Boil/Block Party

We got together with our neighbors on Shauna Lane for what we hope to become our annual block party/crawfish boil! We set up in the cul de sac! We were celebrating our neighbor Allison's 6th birthday at the same time, so the kids had a bounce house that occupied most of their time! This gave the parents the freedom to socialize and have a good time as well! We had so much food! We started about 3:00 and we were in full swing by 4:00! It was a great turn out! And the weather was gorgeous! The boys were intrigued by the crawfish. Everett wanted to look, but he wouldn't touch. Ricky warmed his way up to holding one. Our neighbor Richard showed the kids what to do to eat the crawfish. Ricky even took a bite! Everett said no way! We were surprised it wasn't the other way around! Everett is usually our daring one when it comes to food! We stayed until about 9:30! The boys fell asleep the minute their heads hit their pillows! Of course they were still up the next morning by 6:30! I wish I would have gotten more pictures, but we were too busy having a good time! Here are the pictures we do have!

Ricky loves danger -can't you tell!

Richard is showing the boys how to suck the head!

Ricky shocked us and took a bite! We think he was trying to be macho!

Sawyer's Nursery

Sawyer's nursery is complete! All we need is our beautiful baby boy! So many people have played a part in putting together his nursery! Thank goodness for talented family and friends! Thanks in particular go out to my mother in law for buying the bedding and accessories, my friend Lucinda for the idea of how to paint, the Alford's for helping me get it taped, my hubby for painting it, Allison for helping with decorations, Julie for her creative expertise, Kristen for decorations, my parents for decorations, Linda Sowda a coworker who gave me some decorations, Jessica for helping me put it all on the walls, and Mindy for making Sawyer's name! Thank goodness I have an array of gifted friends! It was definitely a group effort! You notice I didn't play much of a part - I guess you could call me the director! ;0) I love it so much! After I put the boys to bed I walk in to Sawyer's room just to look around! I can't wait for him to enjoy his room!

Shauna Lane Shower for Sawyer

At 31 weeks (only 9 left to go!), the ladies of Shauna Lane threw a baby shower for Samantha and Sawyer. Samantha is the Rana's (next door neighbors) baby girl who was born in February. Samantha and Sawyer will be 4 months apart. The shower began at one and we stayed until almost five o'clock! We hardly took any pictures because we had such a good time visiting and eating yummy food! Sara Housley (who is also expecting-yeah!) organized the shower for us at her house. It was wonderful! All our friends made predictions for Sawyer's weight. Most predictions fell between low six and high seven. We can't wait to see who is right! Will he be tiny like Ricky, enormous like Everett, or will he be somewhere in the middle? We can't wait to find out!

Relay for Life 2010

On April 16, 2010, Ricky and I participated in Relay for Life to help find a Cure for Cancer! I am so proud of Ricky! He was so excited to be a part of this event! On the way to the walk, he asked if he walked if that would help all the people who died of cancer "....pop back up and be alive". He understood that we were helping people who had cancer, but he couldn't understand why we couldn't help the ones who had already died from this horrible disease! I guess that's something we all wish we understood! Next year I hope to include the entire family in this event!

Getting ready to leave for Relay for Life '10!

Baby Shower for Sawyer

At 30 weeks, my friends and family got together to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Sawyer! My dear friends Allison, Kristen, and Julie threw me a shower! It was so beautiful! Friends from all over got together to share in this occasion with me. I had such a wonderful day! I feel so fortunate and blessed to have such great people in my life! Sawyer is so loved before he is even here, and for that I am so grateful! All three of my boys have so many people who love them! We believe it takes a village to raise a child, and what a wonderful village of people we have in our lives! We were showered with such special gifts! At the end of the shower, Daddy, Ricky, and Everett made a special appearance! The boys are so excited to meet Sawyer! They can't wait! After the shower, I put all the gifts in place and wrote out thank you cards! I want to be sure that everyone knows how much I appreciate everything!
