To those near and far, we hope this blog keeps you as close to us as you are to our hearts! We are blessed and want to share our blessings with you all!
We headed to the zoo and made it there just as it opened. It is so nice having the zoo practically all to yourselves! I didn't bring my camera, so I could focus more on the boys rather than on getting great shots. But I couldn't help but snap a few with my cell phone. I love getting to spend this time with my little boys! They are such troopers following the big boys to swim meets and baseball games! It's nice to do something for them too! And the zoo is one of our favorite things to do!
His size:
- 22 pounds
- wears size 4 diaper
- wearing 18-24 month clothes (24) to 2T - he's just been sharing with big brother Sawyer
What he's up to:
- says "Mama", "Hi", "Dada", and "Uh-Oh"; though "Uh-Oh" and "Mama" are definitely his favorite things to say
- babbles saying gaga, nana and lots of other gibberish; imitates sounds others make; we swear one time it even sounded like he said Ricky!
- he clucks his tongue and whistles
- gives high fives
- he loves to dance
- he walks around the house pushing his walker
- trying to stand up on his own without pulling up on something - he's almost there!
- just after 10 months old he started crawling "normal" as opposed to military style
- he loves taking baths
- he LOVES to play ball! He has a mean right and left arm!
How he's teething:
- holding steady at 8 teeth
What he's eating:
- still on strict diet of only Nutramagen formula
- it is so hard not giving in and giving this boy some food!
- retesting is right around the corner
His health:
-Mommy took a boot camp exercise class and the first day in childcare Emerson contracted Herpangina, more commonly referred to as Hand, Foot, Mouth Disease. This consisted of a very high fever, sores in mouth and throat, full body rash, followed by sores on his face, hands, feet, and legs. The doctor said with Emerson's immune system still being so compromised that we are not to take him to child care or out in large groups, particularly during cold and flu season. She said it is imperative we keep him healthy to avoid another hospitalization. So no more boot camp for mommy for awhile. It looks like we'll have to stick to bike rides and exercising at home at least thru the winter.
- An update will come soon after revisiting the allergist! Praying for good news!
Everett is becoming such a great reader! In just the first few weeks of kindergarten he is excelling! He worked hard this summer on his sight words, and all his hard work has paid off!
In Kindergarten, in Mrs. Bruner's class, Mr. Bee whispers in the teacher's ear who was the most "bee-haved" that day. Everett very proudly brought home Mr. Bee! He has been wanting to bake. So we told him if he had a really good week at school this week he could bake on the weekend. Well, all the way home he was so excited and he kept saying he gets to bake with Mrs. Katie. I have no idea where he got that from. But as soon as we got on our street he ran to Mrs. Katie's door! And she sweetly obliged him! She brought Hayden over and baked cupcakes with Everett! Everett was over the moon! And the cupcakes were yummy! Thanks Mrs. Katie!
Baking with Mrs. Katie and Mr. Bee is so much fun!
Everett let Ricky in on the action too!
Sawyer and Hayden watched Toy Story 3 while we were in the kitchen.
This year we have two Sparks and a Puggle! Everett moves up to join his brother! And Sawyer gets to go like his big brothers which he is very excited about! There were no other kids in Sawyer's class the first night. We are keeping our fingers crossed that this changes and more register in the coming weeks! Though he enjoyed his time with Mrs. Laurie! The best part is they learn the bible and grow in verse with their very good friends!
Sawyer and his teacher Laurie
Such a big boy!
How is it he's already in Puggles?!?
Story Time
Sparks - Ricky, Brooklyn, Everett, and Ryland
Two cubbies and a Puggle - Leightyn, Sawyer, and McKenna
The Kuhns walked for a cure! Nana and the Lamneck ladies - Tamika, Sofia, and Addison came out to show their support! What an amazing event! With three of our four boys suffering from food allergies, this cause is very dear to our family! We hope to help raise awareness and funding for research every year and this event is a great way to do just that! Next year we are hoping to get a big group together to walk! The boys really had such a good time! We thought it would be a great event to help show the boys they are not alone in their food allergies. It ended up being great event for mommy and daddy too!
Our first trip out as a stay at home mommy was to the zoo! It was like a dream! I don't know who was more giddy - me or the kids! Mindy met us there with Leightyn and McKenna. And it was so much fun!!
We went to Africa!
We rode the carousel!
We fed the giraffes!
We went to the dinosaur exhibit! Sawyer was a bit intimidated!
