Emerson's First Year

It hasn't been an easy one for our little guy, but it has been a year filled with blessings and such love for our sweet Emerson! We are so thankful he has grown stronger and healthier as he has reached his first birthday!

Emerson continues to be allergic to milk. We still avoid rice, egg, and of course peanut. He also had a bit of a reaction to wheat, so we will just introduce that later. But the introduction of food has made the biggest improvement in Emerson's demeanor. He loves to eat and it makes him happy!

Through all the steroids he had become such a chunky monkey. But now he has evened out and is actually just a little over average. He weighs 23 pounds 10 ounces and is in the 61% for weight. He is about 30 inches long which is in the 53% for height. His head is 46 1/2 inches in circumference which is the 52nd percentile. He wears size 24 month clothing. And of course on the handsome scale he is a perfect 10!!

His eyes are a greenish hazel and his hair is light brown. His smile melts our hearts!

He is quite a talker and tries to repeat words he hears. But as for walking he's not there yet. He cruises everything and pushes everything around, and he's even taken a step or two. But we're not rushing our little guy. He had a little setback from being so sick and momma has hardly put him down since! But we imagine now that he's feeling better we'll be chasing him around in no time!!

He has started following around big brother Sawyer and giggling. He wants to be in the mix with Ricky and Everett too. His favorite place to be is still in mommy's arms and really prefers to be there over anywhere else. He seldom goes to anyone else! But he is playing so much more independently which is fun to watch. He loves to push cars around on the floor, play with puzzles, and listen to mommy or big brothers read. He loves bath time - especially when all four of them pile in together!

We are enjoying Emerson's new found happiness and of course his improving health! He truly makes our family whole!
