Sawyer's First Pics

At one week old, we had Sawyer's pictures taken by our friend Mindy Randolph of Life's a Hoot Photography! They are gorgeous!

We love this one of Sawyer on an antique scale!

He looks so serious and thoughtful!

This one is my favorite! So sweet! His eyes look so blue we wonder what color they will turn out!

Sweet smile!

Another favorite! We are so blessed with three gorgeous boys!

Proud brothers! They take such good care of their baby brother!

I love my boys! I am one lucky lady!

Everett's Unbelievable Week!

First we started out with a fever on Friday the day Sawyer was born. The fever continued off and on for a few days. By Thursday night Everett was up during the night crying of a headache. Then in the morning he was moping around, crying, holding both ears. So I took him to the doctor and it turned out he had ear infections in both ears. We started him right away on antibiotics! Two days later, we were outside playing in the backyard. Everett was running and as usual he wasn't looking where he was going. He ran smack into the playground set. It looks like he must have been running with his tongue hanging out because he took a serious bite out of his tongue! We took him to the ER where they had to sedate our poor baby and put three stitches in his tongue. It was quite traumatic for Everett but even more so for Momma! Restraing Everett and watching him be sedated was very difficult! And if that isn't enough, a few days later and Ricky popped Everett in the face and gave him a black eye! We're hoping things start looking a little brighter for Everett! Of course, he's been a trooper through it all! He is one tough little man!

This picture is taken with my cell phone and doesn't look near as bad as it was! So if it looks bad you should have seen it in person - it was nauseating!

This is Everett and Daddy as we are waiting for the sedative to wear off!

This is the black eye Everett received from his big brother!

Sawyer Meets His Godmother

My dear friend Jessica came from San Antonio to meet her Godson! Sawyer adores her already! Jessica was a big help in those first couple days of Rick being back at work. Jess is a great friend, one of the very best, I know she will be a godsend to our son! We are blessed to have her!

Sawyer's Homecoming

We brought our sweet Sawyer home on Father's Day! Ricky and Everett finally got to meet their baby brother! We also recorded some firsts!

Sawyer is born - June 18, 2010

Sawyer's Birth Story
On June 18th we went to the hospital for induction. At 8:15 they broke my water and started the pitocin. I came in dilated at 2cm. At 10:00 they administered the epidural. At 11:40 I was dilated to a 3. At 12:35 I was almost a 4. But at 2:15 I was only dilated to a 4 1/2. It was then I started to realize the epidural was not working. I was pushing the button like a mad woman, they replaced the bag, and nothing was helping! I had a sudden headache, very strong contractions, back labor, nausea. So the nurse said let's do a check - I went from a 4 1/2 to an 8 in less than 45 minutes! And boy did I feel it! I pushed about 20 minutes and felt every thing at that point! The epidural had not been working for a while and it was awful! But of course it was worth the pain! Sawyer was born at 4:06 pm weighing 7 lbs and 6 ounces and measuring 20 1/2 inches long. We had some feeding issues in the hospital, but worked them out before we left. We left the hospital with him weighing 7 pounds 1 ounce. The boys stayed with Grammy during the day and Nana and Pappy at night. They weren't able to come up to the hospital to meet their baby brother because Everett was sick.
