At 10 weeks, we've had a little scare. I started spotting. I spotted on the 15th and 16th. I called the doctor and the nurse said I had overdone it and needed to take it easy. Well, I didn't spot again until the 19th. And the evening of the 19th it turned bright red. I called the doctor (after hours), and they said if it got worse to go to the ER otherwise to come in in the morning. In the meantime, my entire body broke out in a terrible rash. So first thing in the morning I called and they told me to come right in! They took me right back to ultrasound. It took a second before I could see movement or the heartbeat and I burst into tears. She pointed out the heartbeat, the jawbone, I could see the arms and legs. And our little one started moving it's arms and legs, and then I burst into laughter! What a relief! I am so thankful everything is okay! The heartbeat was 177 beats per minute. The baby's heartbeat at 8 weeks was slower than both our boys, at 10 weeks the heartbeat is much faster than both our boys! After the ultrasound I went to see the doctor. He explained that the bleeding has to do with when and where implantation occurred. He talked about the blood vessel near where the baby is implanted. So everything is okay. He said I may continue to bleed for a couple of weeks. He said not to worry, though he knew I would, but if I needed some assurance to come in anytime. It turns out the rash that I have is a drug reaction. I finished an antibiotic Wednesday and developed the rash Thursday, so it is most likely an allergic reaction to the antibiotic. But to be sure I have to stop all medications, except synthroid for my thyroid, until I go back in two weeks. The first two weeks of pregnancy I lost two pounds. I still have not regained those pounds, so I am still down 2 at 10 weeks. I am counting down the days until we get to see our baby again at 12 weeks!
The boys are doing great! They are both such talkers! I'd say the only time they were quiet was when they were sleeping, but that's not even true - they talk in their sleep! They are thrilled about the new baby! Ricky is always taking care of Mommy and Baby! They both talk to the baby everyday! We are so excited for the holidays! Ricky and Everett can't wait for Santa to come!!! Ricky and Everett both earned a Buzz Lightyear for sleeping in their beds. Ricky continues to do so, but Everett has started waking up from night terrors. So Ricky calms him and tells him he can protect him to get in bed with him! Very sweet! And wonderful for Mommy and Daddy who then don't have to get up! They had their pictures taken with Grammy and then with Mommy and Santa. Check them out below - very cute!!
